Ana Lane founded México Lindo in 2009, driven by the desire to keep Mexican traditions alive and to make sure younger generations have a space to enjoy and be proud of the richness of their cultural heritage. She has been strongly committed to preserving the group’s mission of promoting cultural appreciation and diversity throughout the City of Louisville, Kentucky, and its surrounding neighbors at no cost. She believes in keeping this beautiful form of art free and accessible to everyone.

Ana was born in Guanajuato, México, and attended The University of Guanajuato where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Obstetric Nursing. This is where her folkloric dancing career began, at the University taking classes where she fondly remembers having teachers who pushed her to perfect her “zapateados” and “faldeos”. Since early childhood, Ana has dedicated part of her time to being involved in youth groups and doing community service. By the age of 19, she voluteered and worked with segregated indigenous communities in Oaxaca, México to bring them supplies and medicine. Driven by the desire to help others find their purpose in life, she eventually spent years working with religious groups as a leader of diverse programs. In Louisville, she worked with the Archdiocese of Louisville, and for several years she worked in adult and youth programs within the Hispanic and Latino Community. Throughout her work with the Archidiocese and the many adult and youth programs, Ana has kept Mexico Lindo and its mission as her top priority. So much so, that she has led México Lindo to make history as the first local Mexican Folkoric Dance Group to put on its own show at the Kentucky Performing Arts Center and has now led the group to officially become a Nonprofit Organization in 2026.

Some Fun Achievements of hers:
  • She is the proud owner of a Flower Shop, which she started with the help of her beloved family in May of 2026.
  • Ana has also been nominated twice as the Most Admired Woman of the Year for Today’s Woman Magazine for her dedication and commitment to México Lindo.
  • She received a special recognition by the Embassy of México in Indianapolis that included Mexico Lindo’s own special recognition.
  • She has recieved recognition from two separate mayors of Louisville, KY and from the Office of Senator McGarvey.
  • This year she also went through a leadership program with the Office of Immigration Affairs, the 12th Global Louisville Leadership Academy cohort.

Ana lives life to the fullest; she has been able to visit around 20 countries, she goes skydiving, visits glaciers and mountains, and enjoys Sunsets and watching the moon.

“Culture, folklore, heritage are among the many things that are priceless in our lives. You ought to share with pride and love what you have been given in aboundance“ – Ana Lane
